The laboratory consists of six units, i.e. a unit of hematology, unit of microbiology, unit of immunology, unit of cytogenetics, unit of molecular biology and a unit chromatography. The key objectives of the laboratory are to carry out special laboratory tests for the purpose of liver transplantation or treatment of the patients with hematopoietic malignancies, and to develop and use cell technologies.
We carry out the following tests and assays:
- cytogenetic;
- immunological (immunophenotyping of leukemia, serological properties of antigens and antibodies in case of stem cell or bone marrow transplantation);
- biomalecular (PCR testing for viral and bacterial infections, monitoring of oncogenes and chimerisms);
- hematological (within morphological and cytochemical testing of the patients with hematopoietic malignancies);
- biochemical (within monitoring of the level of immunosuppressants);
- microbiological (provision of data to all patients of the clinic).
We use the advanced testing methods and techniques:
- flow cytometry;
- PCR testing for viral and bacterial infections, monitoring of oncogenes and chimerisms;
- immunochemical testing for immunosuppressants.
