Gamma Teletherapy Room

The key goal of the staff is to carry out inpatient and outpatient radiation therapy. They admit the patients of the 9^th City Clinical Hospital and the patients of other healthcare providers according to referrals. The patients need either anti-inflammatory or anticancer therapy. The staff of the room irradiate blood components transfused to the patients before and after organ and tissue transportation.

The indications for the radiation therapy:

• hematopoietic malignancies, full body irradiation before transplantation of bone marrow and hematopoietic stem cells;
• degenerative and dystrophic diseases of bones and joints;
• non-neoplastic diseases of the nervous system (myasthenia, syringomyelia, ganglioneuritis, etc.);
• inflammatory surgical diseases (chronic pancreatitis, trophic ulcers, bone felon, etc.);
• cancer (in coordination with Minsk City Clinical Oncologic Dispensary)

The room has the the equipment for full body irradiation, Agat-C gamma teletherapy device, IBL-437 C irradiator and radiation dosimeters.
