Transplantation, Hepatology and Nephrology Consultation Room
The core activities are:
- consultation of the patients with hepatobiliary disorders (according to referrals) and determination of the patients, who need liver transplantation;
- examination of patients before placing them on the liver transplant waiting list;
- outpatient care and follow-up of patients after liver transplantation;
- collaboration with the chief of the department of hepatology and minimally invasive surgery with a view to adjusting treatment, coordinating follow-up and providing inpatient and outpatient treatment to the patients after liver transplantation at healthcare establishments of the Republic of Belarus;
To schedule a consultation a patient shall have a referral from the assigned outpatient clinic.

- consultation and prescription of treatment before and after kidney transplantation to the patients with nephrological disorders referred to consultation by nephrologists or other medical specialists;
- examination of the patients, primary and secondary immunological testing with a view to determine whether such patients may be recipients of a kidney (pancreas) transplant;
- thorough assessment and testing of a kidney (pancreas) transplant (ultrasound scanning, computed scanning, nuclear scintigraphy, biochemical, serological and immunological testing, X-ray examinations);
- councils with related medical specialists and joint examination of the patients with a combined pathology;
- referral of patients to inpatient facilities in accordance with indications for hospitalization;
- supervision of diagnosis and treatment of the patients after kidney transplantation at assigned healthcare establishments, consultation of ambulatory nephrologists, who care for the patients after kidney transplantation;
- issue of consultation reports and guidelines for prevention and treatment of the patients with kidney (pancreas) transplants to the physicians of outpatient clinics. Periodical health examination of the patients after kidney (pancreas) transplantation.
Today, 387 patients after kidney transplantation are registered in the transplantation consultation room. The post-transplantation follow up lasts from several weeks to 20 years.
