Department of Anesthesia and Intensive Care No.3 (Hematology)

The department of anesthesia and intensive care is a division of the Center of Hematology and Bone Marrow Transplantation. The capacity of the department is 12 beds. The patients of the center with hematopoietic malignancies, pulmonary heart disease, hepatorenal syndrome are admitted to the department.

The department has the following equipment: UM-300 24-hour monitor, lung ventilators, devices for the extracorporeal therapy and acid-base balance evaluation.

The core activities:

• mobilization and collection of peripheral blood stem cells in the patients with hematopoietic malignancies for further transplantation;
• chemotherapy programs (induction of remission, consolidation, ,supportive therapy), comprehensive accompanying therapy for acute myeloblastic leukemia (M0-M5), myelodysplastic syndrome with excess blasts, aplastic anemia;
• chemotherapy programs induction of remission, consolidation, ,supportive therapy), comprehensive accompanying therapy for acute lymphoblastic leukemia;
• drug therapy, plasmapheresis for idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura;
• courses of polychemotherapy. Mobilization and collection of peripheral blood stem cells in case of multiple myeloma, Hodgkin’s lymphoma, non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma;
• courses of chemotherapy. Collection of bone marrow, culture of mesenchymal stem cells. Transplantation of mesenchimal stem cells in case of multiple sclerosis.
