The indications for hospitalization to the Department of Surgical Portal Hypertension:
- diseases, benign tumors and primary cancer of the liver, subject to surgery, in children and adults;
- secondary (metastatic) cancer of the liver, subject to surgery;
- benign tumors and primary cancer of the pancreas, subject to surgery, in children and adults;
- complications of chronic pancreatitis subject to surgery;
- congenital disorders of the liver and bile ducts in adults;
- complications of chronic diffuse liver diseases (cirrhosis) subject to surgery;
- diseases and tumors of the gall bladder, interahepatic and extrahepatic bile ducts;
- portal hypertension syndrome (endoscopic sclerotherapy of intestinal veins, portosystemic shunting and TIPS);
- diseases of the spleen subject to surgery;
- diffuse and focal liver diseases of terminal stages (aim of hospitalization is to examine patients before liver transplantation).
