Indications for liver transplantation:

1.2.1. Acute (fulminant) liver failure caused by:

1.2.1.1. viral hepatitis;

1.2.1.2. hepatotoxic poisoning;

1.2.1.3. mushroom poisoning;

1.2.1.4. acute hepatic steatosis in pregnancy;

1.2.1.5. other causes of liver failure.

1.2.2. Viral liver cirrhosis caused by a cholestatic or autoimmune liver disease.

1.2.3. Biliary atresia

1.2.7. Caroli disease resulted in liver cirrhosis.

1.2.9. Congenital metabolic disorders resulted in liver cirrhosis (α-1- antitrypsin deficiency, Wilson’s disease, tyrosineamia, Type 1 glycogenesis, Crigler–Najjar syndrome, Type 1 hyperoxaluria, disorders of the urea synthesis).

1.2.10. Familial cholestatic syndrome.

1.2.11. Neonatal (giant cell) hepatitis.

1.2.12. Budd Chiari syndrome.

1.2.16. Benign liver tumors:

1.2.17.1. hemangiomatosis;

1.2.17.2. adenomatosis;

1.2.17.3. hamartomatosis;

1.2.17.4. polycystic liver disease;

1.2.17.5. Primary malignant liver tumors:

1.2.18.1. hepatocellular carcinoma;

1.2.18.3. hepatoblastoma;

1.2.18.4. hemangioendothelioma;

1.2.19. cholangiocarcinoma of the proximal extrahepatic ducts.

1.2.20. Metastatic liver cancer:

1.2.20.1. metastasis of neuroendicrine tumors. Some patients with metastatic lesions have indications for liver transplantation, if the tumor does not spread outside the liver, if the primary site was eradicated or if a patient may benefit from the surgery.

1.2.21. Alveolar hydatid disease.

1.2.23. Retransplantation (chronic rejection, primary transplant dysfunction, chronic transplant dysfunction caused by recurrent diffuse diseases, incurable biliary strictures, liver transplant cirrhosis).

1.2.24. Other indications:

1.2.24.1. fibrocystic liver disease;

1.2.24.7. Niemann-Pick disease;

1.2.24.8. Sea-blue histiocytosis;

1.2.24.9. Erythropoietic protoporphyria;

1.2.24.10.hemophilia.
